First year elective
The first year elective is an exciting time and an amazing opportunity to get out and experience the wonderful world that is medicine. Why should you spend it in regional, rural or remote Australia? Here are some reasons why you might want to:
- Get a hands on experience that you won’t find in the city, without leaving the country
- Experience some of Australia’s amazing locations, varying from tropical coastland to rugged desert and anything in between
- Actually get to know your doctor, the healthcare team and the community, it’s one of the benefits of living in a smaller place
We think those reasons alone make a pretty compelling case. However, TROHPIQ further sweetens the deal by offering you assistance in finding a suitable elective and running a pre-elective workshop (PEW) where you’ll learn the basics so you can more meaningfully participate in the functioning of your health team and derive a lot more benefit from your elective.
