The UQ Rural Clinical School (UQRCS) was established on 1st January, 2002. We are part of a national network of Rural Clinical Schools managed by Universities and funded by the Australian Government, through the Department of Health and Ageing, to improve the regional and rural medical workforce.
Our focus is to provide high quality medical education and training experiences for students in rural and regional areas. The premise is that medical students who have a positive living and learning experience in a rural or regional setting will be encouraged to take up rural practice, thus enhancing the sustainability and viability of rural health care services.
We are located at:
- Rockhampton
- Toowoomba
- Wide Bay (Hervey Bay)
- Wide Bay (Bundaberg)
- Rural & Remote (virtual site)
