Toowoomba, “The Garden City”, certainly lived up to its reputation for having a hospitable, relaxed atmosphere and cool climate on Saturday the 16th of April!
The 34 health students who went on TROHPIQ’s annual Toowoomba trip were provided with a tour of the city’s UQ Rural Clinical School and Base Hospital, as well as workshops in suturing, bandaging, and life support.
A hearty lunch at the famed Spotted Cow pub was accompanied by a speech from the Deputy Mayor, Cr Paul Antonio, who spoke of the intricacies and rewards of working as a health professional in the Darling Downs.
The day was capped off with visits to student accommodation facilities and afternoon tea (with scenic views!) at Picnic Point. TROHPIQ would like to thank everyone who made the day possible.
