RFDS PitStop on June 8th in Brisbane – call for volunteers!

Spend a fun morning with the Royal Flying Doctor Service on Wednesday 8th June 2011 & be involved in the Pit Stop Program 2011 at BRISBANE MARKETS, Rocklea.

The Royal Flying Doctor service is currently recruiting volunteers to help us deliver the Pit Stop program at the Brisbane Wholesale Fruit and Veg Markets. We need up to 12 health care students to help us with non intrusive medical tests to be conducted on the day.

You will be fully briefed on Pit Stop and those willing participants and will be explained the testing and other requirements in greater detail.

When: Wednesday 8th June 2011
Start time: 5:00am
Finish: 10.30am

Pit Stop is a preventative health campaign targeting men. The campaign is based on the concept of car maintenance, in that men in a particular venue will be urged to enter a “Pit Stop” and have a quick check up to ensure they are in good working order.

Pit Stations:

  • Chassis Check (hip to waist ratio)
  • Torsion (flexibility)
  • Exhaust (smoking)
  • Fuel Additives (alcohol consumption)
  • Oil Pressure (blood pressure)
  • Spark Plugs (testicles)
  • Duco (skin cancer)
  • Extractor (Colorectal cancer)
  • Shock Absorbers (coping skills)
