Rural Appreciation Weekend 2011 (RAW11)

Amazing academic and social weekend (30 Sept – 3 Oct) on a cattle property in Dunedoo. Hurry, applications close 2 September, register here!

2011 CRANAplus Conference

Annual conference with an emphasis on multidisciplinary care this year. Runs from 11th-14th of October and will be held in Perth.  Information and applications here, and financial support is available through the NRHSN Conferences of National Significance funding, apply here.

2011 Queensland Wound Care Association biennial conference.

From 8-10th of September in Townsville Queensland. For the first time ever, the Conference will be highly interactive in nature with workshops being a core feature of the program. to find out more and register click here.


Databases of scholarships available through UQ and the NRHSN

Queensland Health Scholarships

Rural Scholarship Scheme – Open to all Nursing and Allied Health students for the final two years of their degree. Receive up to $21000 a year! Hurry, applications close September 9 for Nursing and September 19 for Allied health.

Clinical Placement Subsidy Scheme – Financial support for Allied Health students undertaking clinical placements in rural or remote areas.

SARRAH Scholarships (note: these exclude Nursing and Pharmacy students)

Undergraduate NAHSSS – Receive up to $10000 a year to help study an Allied Health degree.  Applications open September 12.

Postgraduate NAHSSS – Financial assistance for those wishing to study a postgraduate Allied Health qualification.

Allied Health Clinical Placement Scholarship Scheme – Receive up to $11000 towards clinical placements in rural or remote locations. Runs by financial year and has closed for 2011-2012. Advertisements will be made closer to the application date for 2012-2013.
