Medical students from TROHPIQ, BUSHFIRE and Hope4Health journeyed to Stanthorpe last weekend to join in the festivities of the annual horse races. The wild weather interfered with the races but did not stop the students from enjoying the day. The weekend included a skills workshop at the local hospital – plastering, cannulation and suturing were the flavours of the day! Local doctor, James Telfer, presented on medical career options in rural Australia and why all doctors should consider a career in the bush. Thanks to those who organised the weekend, particularly Dan and the team from Hope4Health. Make sure to come along to the Stanthorpe Cup in 2012!
