The RDAQ conference will be happening from 7th – 9th June, 2013 at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre, Mackay.

This is an AWESOME opportunity to get along to one of the best conferences of the year. TROHPIQ will be sending at least 10 students along to enjoy the tremendous educational, social and overall career advancing experience that is the RDAQ Conference.

Attendance at RDAQ 2013

It normally costs  up to $545 to attend RDAQ. But thanks to the assistance provided by generous Doctors attending RDAQ and other organisations that wish to help students gain access to this professional and personal development experience and learn more about rural healthcare in Queensland the cost will only be $150.

WOW! That’s just $150 from you and sponsorship covers the rest of your conference registration, transport, and accommodation!

How to apply:

With TROHPIQ support / funding-

  • Complete the TROHPIQ application form here. before Sunday April 7th @5pm!!!
  • Successful applicants will be notified by April 9th and expected to complete the official registration form by the 10th of April @5pm!!!!

Without TROHPIQ support / funding-

  • You are obviously more than welcome to attend the conference using your own funding or by organising your own support (most rural/bonded scholarship have conference funding that is easy to apply for).

Spoiler alert- What to expect

Student Orientation Session- All students are encouraged to attend the orientation session which will be held on Friday 7th June from 3.00pm – 4.30pm. This is a great opportunity for you to meet other medical students and obtain a few tips on how to get the most out of the conference.

Student Networking Function- This networking function has been organised for students to meet and thank their sponsors. It is also an opportunity to build new contacts. Admittance to this event is solely for students and their sponsors.

Go above and beyond:

PRESENT AT THE CONFERENCE – RDAQ Medical Student Presentation and Award –

As a student, your involvement in the RDAQ conference greatly contributes to its success. There is a session in the program where medical students can present a clinical case report relevant to the RDAQ conference theme “Digging Deep for Rural Health; Living and Working on the Land”.

The prize for the best 10 minute presentation includes conference registration, a $250 travel support payment, a $250 cash prize, and a shiny trophy.

RDAQ 4th year Prize-

RDAQ present the opportunity for medical students to apply for an RDAQ Student Prize. You have to be enrolled at a participating university, be an active member of your relevant rural health club and have completed a rural placement.
