Funding Opportunities for the National Rural Health Conference

Two opportunities for funding have arisen for the National Rural Health Conference, which will be held in Darwin, 24-27 May ( http://www.ruralhealth.org.au/13nrhc/ )

1. NRHSN funding for Conferences of National Significance (CoNS). Deadline for the National Rural Health Conference funding: end of March

This is definitely a great opportunity for anyone in their uni’s rural health club.

You can apply for CoNS funding to cover your conference registration fee, travel, and up to $130/night of your accommodation. For more information on how to apply, what the funding covers (and how you get your money), make sure you click the ‘Guidelines’, ‘Travel’ and ‘Application’ links on the website here: http://www.nrhsn.org.au/site/index.cfm?display=39664
That website also lists some other conferences you can receive funding for, make sure you check it out!

2. Des Murray Scholarship, specifically for students from remote backgrounds to attend the National Rural Health Conference (Darwin, May 2015).
Deadline: February 23

Nominations are being sought from NRHA Council and Friends Advisory Committee members for the 2015 Des Murray Scholarship.

The Des Murray Scholarship was established by the Alliance to recognise Des Murray’s contribution to the rural and remote health community, and as a reminder of the man and his work. The Scholarship is awarded every second year to enable a young person from a more remote area to attend the National Rural Health Conference. In 2015 the Scholarship will cover the cost of registration, airfare and accommodation for the 13th National Rural Health Conference in Darwin, 24-27 May 2015.

For more details on the Des Murray Scholarship, view the guidelines attached below and if you meet the criteria, send an email to scholarship@trohpiq.org so I can send you the nomination form!
