Indigenous scholarships for medical students to attend NLDS

You are invited to apply for Australian Medical Students’ Association’s (AMSA) premier academic event, the National Leadership Development Seminar (NLDS). You are invited to be inspired, to gain new knowledge and skills and to meet like minded individuals around the country. The NLDS is held in Canberra and will take from the 12th-16th September 2015. It is a unique forum, which provides passionate, enthusiastic and engaged medical students with a platform to discuss ideas, network and workshop your ideas into advocacy campaigns and national projects for tomorrow.

This year for the first time, AMSA is offering 3 full scholarships for medical students from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background, which covers the entire cost of travel and NLDS registration. AMSA has been working collaboratively with the Australian Indigenous Doctors Association (AIDA) to improve and facilitate indigenous advocacy within the NLDS program. It is a mandate that we are committed to and hope to do justice to in our program.

NLDS has also released registration costs, which includes full travel and flights to attend NLDS. Through this we hope to create a more equitable and accessible event, especially for students who reside in rural and remote parts of Australia.

Applications are open until May 31st, for more information, please see our websitefacebook page or don’t hesitate to contact the NLDS team at
