TROHPIQ Skills Days are run several times per year, and represent a popular event for new TROHPIQ members. Skills Days bring together professional health staff and senior health students to teach medical, nursing and allied health students basic clinical skills they will need for future hospital placements. These events are hands-on, fun, and provide an opportunity to meet and network with other passionate health professionals and students.
The stations vary each event and aim to teach a variety of skills and techniques, including:
Suturing
Airway Management
Basics of Birthing
Plaster casting
Basic Life Support
Intraosseous Access
Venepuncture
Cannulation
Emergency Skills Workshop
Use of Doppler ultrasound for vascular assessment
Neonatal Resuscitation
Typically two sessions will run throughout the day, with an afternoon and a morning session. All TROHPIQ members are welcome to attend.
We even run a fantastic snapchat competition on the day. Add us on snapchat now (username: trohpiq) and enter your snaps on the day to go in the running for some awesome prizes!
